On a Sunday morning in July, my good friend and librarian extraordinaire, Beth McNeilly and I read our favourite picture books with a delightfully charming group of young uns at Rebooked, the best bookshop in Hong Kong for secondhand children’s books. I read the wonderful Sophie’s Squash by Pat Zietlow Miller while Beth chose the fun Press Here by Hervé Tullet, ending with Julia Donaldson’s sing-songy The Paper Dolls. What fun we had! We made paper dolls together and a loving pair of sisters adopted our real life Bernice the Squash! Looking forward to sharing more picture books with little ones and their caregivers in the future.
