It has long been a secret dream of mine to be interviewed by one of Hong Kong’s warmest and most ebullient radio personalities, Noreen Mir. My dream finally came true at the end of summer 2025 when Noreen kindly invited me to speak with her on her RTHK3 radio show about the inspiration behind my Asian stories as well as the importance of representation for younger Asian readers. I was gratified for the opportunity to share my thoughts with her as well as to read an excerpt from my award-winning, unpublished picture book manuscript, The Magic in Ming’s Hands. It was like talking to an old friend, and I’m delighted to share that the entirety of the interview can be found at the Brunch with Noreen podcast here or by clicking on the link below. I hope you enjoy!
